Many Joomla! sites are structured as magazines where authors publish articles about new products, services or whatever other stuff. In this type of website, readers may get interested in articles and would like an easy way to ask for additional info about the topic of the article.
Supposed it´s a catalog site, the potential customer (web user) would like to contact directly the article author (the seller) to ask him/her for additional information, price or any other data. Doing so just by a mouse click would be perfect.
That´s what Inforequest is supossed to do. Generalizing, any website where readers may wish to contact article authors is suitable for this extension.
Inforequest extension consists of a component (required), plugin (required), and a module (optional). In a few words,
- component is required because it instalsl (and eventually deinstalls) the database table where extension data is stored. Besides, component shows a complete list of info requests made by current user (if linked from a menu entry, -optional-). So component is required to install, but optional to use as a menu entry.
- plugin manages "aditional info forms" for articles (required to install and enable),
- and module shows a list of last articles that have been requested info about.
